Branch Creek Raw Honey is the same blend as the creamed honey but unlike creamed honey where granulation has been controlled and it’s smooth in texture, raw/runny honey will still naturally granulate over time.
Raw Honey is packaged straight after extraction in its liquid form. Over time it forms granulated crystals and the texture will become grainy. Raw honey will harden and can sometimes be a challenge to get out of the jar but you can easily reverse the granulation process. We recommend placing your jar in a warm place, such as the window sill or simply place it in a pot of water and gently heat.
It is a mild and delicate tasting honey, perfect for adding to baking, tea/coffee or simply delicious by itself.
This award-winning Clover Blend Honey is crafted in the Cardrona Valley between Wanaka and Queenstown. It has won a silver medal at the 2022 NZ Artisan Awards, a bronze medal at the 2023 Outstanding NZ Food Producer Awards and a GOLD medal at the 2024 Outstanding Food Producer Awards. It then went on to win the 2024 CHAMPION award for the Farro Earth category.
